PTA membership drive started today!

Battle of the Books

I know it's a little early to be posting anything about Battle of the Books. However, if you're looking for some reading material for your student's 20 minutes of home reading per day, you might want to consider the excellent books on the Battle of the Books reading list. (America's Battle of the Books is for students in grades 3-6.)

Please join the PTA!

The PTA membership drive will be held from August 25-29, but parents are encouraged to join anytime. We had 49 parents join during the Open House today, and we think that's a great start. Membership costs $6. The class with the most PTA members will be rewarded with a cool treat, and everyone who joins the PTA by August 29 will be entered in a drawing for a Coach handbag.

The PTA supports programs and activities at the school:

  • Reflections
  • Spooktacular
  • Donut Dates
  • Red Ribbon Week
  • Shark Fitness Challenge
  • Safety Week
  • Dads & Dogs
  • Teacher Appreciation

The PTA also helps organize room moms for every teacher, volunteers for different events at the school (like vision and hearing screening and book fairs) and provides meals for the teachers during parent-teacher conferences.
