Shark Challenge

The Shark Challenge has wrapped up for the year. Together the students traveled 48,000 miles—that's two times around the Earth at the equator!

Landon Larsen from Mr. McCann's 4th/5th grade class had the highest mile count: 475 miles. Way to go and go and go, Landon!

The Shark Challenge assembly will be on Thursday morning, where the students who participated in the Shark Challenge will be recognized. A big THANKS goes to Melissa Brown for all her efforts in organizing and running this great program throughout the year.

Field Day - May 27

Field Day will be on Tuesday, May 27, for grades 1-6. Grades 1-3 will have outdoor activities in the morning, and grades 4-6 will have outdoor activities in the afternoon. Parent volunteers are needed for activity stations, and each class also needs one parent volunteer to go to each station with the class and help the station volunteers. Station volunteers will spend one station time with each class, so it's a great way to volunteer if you have multiple students and would like to see them all during field day. Classroom volunteers will stay with the same class the whole two hours.

The school also needs 20 coolers and 10 hoses for Field Day. Equipment needs to be dropped off at the school by 9:00 a.m. and can be picked up at 2:15 p.m. or the end of the school day. (You're welcome to bring equipment immediately and leave it on the stage if today is easier than Tuesday morning for you.) Please label all equipment.

You can click HERE for the sign-up sheet, which also includes details about stations and the class schedules. If you have trouble with the sign-up sheet for some reason, please e-mail sharkspta@gmail.com with your name and where you would like to volunteer or which equipment you can provide, and someone from the PTA will add your info to the sign-up sheet. Thank you!
