Night in Bethlehem

Come enjoy this free event on Saturday, December 19, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Saratoga Shores Elementary School.

A Night in Bethlehem is a family event for all to enjoy traveling back to the Bethlehem marketplace at the time of Christ's birth. Families can move from booth to booth making projects together, which you take home with you. Stop by the wood shop or the bakery or have some nuts from the nut shop as you enjoy the atmosphere of a village from long ago.

Sponsored by Westlake Community Church in partnership with Coram Deo.

Nominating Committee Needed

The PTA needs to form a nominating committee in December. The nominating committee is made up of 3-5 members of the PTA. They meet together and come up with names of people who might be interested and willing to serve on the PTA executive committee for the following school year. The nominating committee meets together a few times, and then the responsibility is finished. Members of the nominating committee cannot serve on the executive committee themselves. The names of those they nominate are placed on the ballot for the PTA election, and PTA members elect the committee members. (For Saratoga Shores, the executive committee includes the president, president-elect, treasurer, secretary, leadership VP and legislative VP.)

The new middle school is also forming a nominating committee. Saratoga Shores needs to provide one committee member; other schools that will feed into the new middle school will also provide nominating committee members.

If you are willing to be on the nominating committee for either Saratoga Shores OR the new middle school, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Ashlie, at Thanks!

Halloween Celebrations

Parents are invited to view our annual Halloween parade that will be held on Friday, October 30th at 9:30 a.m. Students will come to school in their costumes. Teachers will determine if students can remain in their costume following the parade.

Costumes should reflect the goodness of our children rather than glorifying the dark side of life. Costumes should also reflect sensitivity to the cultural and religious standards of the community. District policy prohibits weapons of any type or weapon look-a-likes at the school. Please steer your child into wearing an appropriate, fun costume to celebrate the season.

Classes may also have Halloween parties at a time designated by teachers.

Red Ribbon Week: October 26-30

Tuesday: Wear purple.
